More about Natalie

Training

Natalie earned her BA from Muhlenberg College, double concentrating in Acting and Directing. She studied Physical Theatre, Clowning, and Commedia dell’Arte at the Accademia dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy, then earned her MFA in Classical Acting from the George Washington University and Shakespeare Theatre Company.

 

She recently explored Suzuki Method of Actor Training with colleagues as they built a performance piece for the TurnPark Summer Festival in Massachusetts. 

Devisor

Natalie is a proud company member with Faction of Fools – DC’s only Commedia dell’Arte theatre company. There, she collaborated on multiple devised projects including Doug Robinson’s You’re Not Special and Love Like Tuesday.

This spring she will direct a Commedia Much Ado About Nothing.

She was also a company member with Arts on the Horizon where she contributed to seven world premier TYA productions. She co-wrote and directed Squeakers & Mr. Gumdrop, which was nominated for a Helen Hayes for Outstanding TYA Production. 

She is currently working with colleges on an adventurous, puppet-filled TYA adaptation of Emil and the Detectives

Teaching Artist

Natalie is a faculty member with The National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts where she teaches and directs. While serving as Director of Education post-pandemic, she showcased diverse playwrights and guest artists so as to empower students to connect with local, DC talent.

 

Her masterclasses and workshops have been enjoyed around the country including University of Maryland, University of Wisconsin, University of Texas at Austin, The Academy at Detour Company Theatre in Arizona, and DMV high schools and middle schools.

 

She keeps laughter and play at the heart of her work to unleash joyful collaboration in every room.
